Well, this convinced me. I can afford it, I enjoy seeing a new newsletter in the inbox and I enjoy reading it during breaks from work. Plus I always talk about how important it is to pay for content so... yeah, long overdue, but I just subscribed.
Just subscribed. Found the newsletter after People Make Games tagged it in a Patreon post. I haven't grown up with print media so your work is really refreshing.
If it helps, I didn't actually realise you were aiming to make a substantial income out of this thing! For some reason I saw the paid subscription tier and assumed it was a donation feature. Maybe I'm used to how bluntly YouTubers plug their shit, or how Patreon puts the paid tiers right in your face when you go on someone's page. Or maybe I'm just particularly unobservant.
I have no idea where I saw your Substack referenced (probably Twitter) but subbed the following day. It's always a very pleasant surprise to see great, honest games writing and so support was a no-brainer. Thanks Nathan.

Do you have Patreon? I'm not excited about signing up for a new thing (Substack), but also don't mind paying/supporting what you're doing...
