When talking about reputational damage, I'm surprised Naughty Dog's port of TLOU for PC didn't seem to sting as much? Is it because it's a port? Co developed with Iron Galaxy perhaps? Still, a rare blight on a studio that trades on technical prowess as much as anything. (See the recent GTA Definitive Editions ports similarly)

As someone who’s been hugely enjoying Jedi Survivor over the last few days, I will say that the technical issues have been somewhat overstated - as long as you are playing in the 30fps Quality mode, which feels so much like the intended experience that I’m wondering if the wonky Performance mode was slapped in at the last minute. 30fps in this day and age feels weird initially but once you adjust to it, it’s a remarkably solid and really very good game.

I played RDR2 for about 12 hours, dutifully working my way through, but never really falling for its charms. I was playing one evening whilst my wife was on her phone on the other side of the sofa, and she said “what the fuck is this, it’s like you’re playing Little House on the Prairie.”

She was right. And that was that.

The debacle from this week’s releases reminds me of the quote oft attributed to Miyamaoto-san: “A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever.”

Zelda releases have always happened to coincide with work vacations. Now I’m working for myself, I’m excited to get my hands on it, and going to put in the vacation request to the CEO this week.
