I haven't bought a PS5 arcade stick...yet. After playing a little of this I might. I'm so used to the classic controls I can't even fathom using the modern scheme, but like you, I'm happy that it exists. I tried out Kimberly the other night and her move set is pretty great.

Though I fully agree on World Tour's lousy core design and writing-- yet this hasn't stopped me from grinding it out-- I recommend that if you're a series fan, you push *just a little bit further* until you get to the subway. Realizing I was walking onto stage 2 of Final Fight with all the "enemies" just kind of hanging out waiting for their trains was such a good joke.

On the other hand I just looked at the chapter list to see how much more of this thing was left, and groaned loudly.

Well, I can see three of them from my desk, and that's by no means all of them.

Of all the fighters I’ve played, I still think the best single player mode was the one offered by Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution. Having you being someone playing competitively in the arcades - and ultimately in regional and national championships, rather the fighter themselves, was just a much better choice. But then I guess a lot of people nowadays wouldn’t know what an arcade is…

By the way, I got tired of VF after a while. My fingers aren’t as nimble anymore, and even in the glory days, I could only input 2 out of the 3 possible grab counters (you had to do them all within 8 frames!!!). I never got Akira’s moves down, despite repeatedly watching that video of that guy doing it one-handed to spur me on.

I’d absolutely say dexterity is integral to fighting games. I’d also say that, past a certain age, I’m looking at a game promising easier control with a different eye. I’ve never cared much for SF (give me real 3D any day), but SF6 definitely has my attention.
